St Andrews House

This is a one off house which has been designed around a large number of existing trees on the site. The house has been positioned to maximise solar gain which also coincedently focuses the building on a very old existing Chestnut tree. This tree will provide part of the solar shading in the Summer. Due to it's location the house utilises a palette of render, stone and timber external finishes. All habitable rooms have full height glazing to maximise the potential of solar gain as well as providing unobstructed views. High level windows have been utilised to the East and West of the house in order that sunlight can penetrate the interior both in the morning and the evening.
